Rite Aid, one of the largest pharmacy chains in the US, was in the middle of a turnaround plan when the coronavirus pandemic hit. The pandemic accelerated a lot of the plans Rite Aid had been putting in place, Chief Operating Officer Jim Peters told Business Insider. “We have accelerated dramatically our e-commerce and, frankly, overall consumer experience initiatives. Who would have guessed that people like my mother would be sitting in an a condo in Florida accessing telehealth, accessing e-commerce,” Peters said.
