Mid-tier airlines with primarily leisure markets and domestic networks are in the best position as the airline industry recovers from the COVID-19 crisis, according to an analyst at Bank of America. Airlines including Southwest and Allegiant are among those in the best position, analyst Andrew Didora wrote in a research note upgrading Alaska Airlines to “buy,” and JetBlue to “neutral.” The big three — American, Delta, and United — are likely to be hindered by slow returns of business and international travel.
